Washington Post

Here is a freelance illustration I did for the Washington Post a month or so ago. I got a call from my in-laws, that live in the D.C. area, that my husband's 10-year-old niece had seen the illustration in the Style section and recognized my byline. She was going to take some extra copies to her classroom to show her teacher and classmates. It's nice that somebody out there still reads the newspaper!

By the way, the story was about how a lot of people are watching TV on their computers. I am personally addicted to hulu.com. I watched the first entire season of Bewitched and Stargate SG-1. I also love catching up on Saturday Night Live skits I may have missed or episodes of Ugly Betty. All that television and I still find time to read the paper in the morning. I'm awesome!

Place Cards

Rebecca & Anthony got married a few weeks ago. We printed thank you cards for them a few months back. This is a close-up of the place cards we did for them too. May they have a long and happy life together.

Sad Times

Hello everyone, (all three of you)
Things have been tumultuous at work these last few weeks. 192 people at my newspaper were let go. Many of my friends were included in that group. When all is said and done, I will be in a cubicle surrounded by 5 empty cubicles. These are very tough times and I can't help but hope that most of them will be on to bigger and better things. Sometimes we need a kick in the pants to pursue our dreams or make that huge move or change we've secretly been wanting. At least that is my wish for my coworkers. I'm so grateful that I have a job, but it's hard being left behind too. On that sad note, I hope we all can appreciate what we have and welcome any change that comes our way. If we find it hard to welcome change, hopefully we can beat the crap out of it so it resembles something we can live with.
