Time for a nap

Just thought it was time for a Lucy picture. She looked so peaceful napping on the couch the other day so I snapped this picture. Hope it makes you smile.

Oh So Beautiful Paper {blog}

I was just browsing my bookmarked selection of blogs today and came across our own Partridge Print mentioned in Oh So Beautiful Paper. Nole, from Washington, DC, is the writer of the blog that celebrates all things paper. Every time I visit her site I wish I was getting married all over again. Check it out here!

Partridge Print

This three-color letterpress print was a labor of love for us. We took our most popular holiday card design, separated it into 3-colors and printed it as large as would fit on our 6 x 9-inch base. Getting them perfect was a challenge, but then again, the subtle variations in each print is what makes these truly unique. We printed them in two different color combinations and I still don't know which is my favorite. They are each hand-numbered and will be up for sale here tomorrow. These birds are not just for the holidays now!

Waves Wedding Kit

We designed this ocean themed wedding package for a local client this past month. I think they turned out pretty great. Our motor was working beautifully and made this job go smoothly. Coasters and place cards are next on the list. Happy wedding, Brooke & Alex!

Recycled Thank Yous

Sometimes it seems as if the word "thank you" just isn't enough. I don't mean we should skip saying it, but I just want to know how to make it better than just a regular thank you. My amazing in-laws were in town, and because we, at Byvik Ink, are expecting and addition to the team (a baby boy) they were helping us get ready. In the course of one week, they fixed the sound on our TV, replaced our broken porch light, installed a new water heater and bought us a washer and dryer! And, as if it were an after thought, fixed the new motor on our press so it purrs like a kitten and let's us print and print and print! On top of all that, we still managed a few games of Scrabble every night. How can you possible say thank you for all of that. Can a card really be enough?

These cards were printed a while back, but I just got around to posting them for sale. The are printed on 100% recycled kraft card stock and 100% recycled kraft envelopes. I guess a card is a start.

Kowabunga Baby!

We recently printed some baby shower invitations for a client in New York and the design turned out so great we turned them into greeting cards. We also used a new recycled paper for the first time. It's a card stock from French Paper that I've been researching for a while. I wanted something thick (100 pound or more), recycled (at least 30% post consumer fiber), less expensive than Crane's Lettra but with a slight texture as well. Most recycled card stocks we have played with were just too smooth to show off letterpress. Well, we just love this paper! It has small flecks in it and holds the deeper impressions beautifully too. Take a look for yourself!

I'll be putting the Kowabunga baby cards up for sale next week -stay tuned!

As for French Paper, their website is so much fun to browse. Don't hesitate to call them with any questions either, they were super helpful each time I called.
