What the Pluot! {illustration process}

This illustration was done for the January Water-wise garden section of the Union-Tribune. {story here} I thought is was a good example of how I worked. Sketch to Illustrator to Photoshop. The writer, Nan Sterman, complimented me by thinking this was an actual print. If only I had the time...

by the way - a pluot is a hybrid between a plum and an apricot.

Thanks for sharing your process. Love the texture you introduced in photoshop, was it a brush? Do you use a tablet?

Hi Kathy,
thanks for the comment! Yes, I use one of the faux finish brushes. I use a mouse at the moment because my tablet died and I haven't had a new one installed yet.
