B&W and read all over?

Sometimes being confined to just black and white for an illustration can be very freeing. You don't have to get caught up in what a color means or what should have cool colors or warm. That is until you realize how many grays there are between black and white!

This illo was done for our Books Section of the paper for the Pat Barker historical novel, Life Class. Read the review here. From what I remember, it was about a love triangle during WWI. They all took a figure drawing class together before the war and the rest is, yes, history.

There are certainly loads of shades of gray in art...wish we could figure that out in life. hehehe

Hope you are doing good.

Very good point. I think in life, as in art, it takes time to learn to distinguish the grays. As we get older we can appreciate the 20% grays and the 80% grays more and more.
