Hope you all had a fair time this weekend. Speaking of fairs, I did a cover illustration for the opening of the Del Mar Fair recently. The theme was food at the fair. The illustration above with the jalopy and the woman in purple is a Charley Harper illustration I found for my inspiration. Did I copy too much, or did I make it my own? - or is Charley Harper fair game to copy? Just a thought. Discuss!

I like seeing where you get your inspiration!
For awhile I would channel the TV journalist Keith Morrison when I wanted to tell a really good story. I imagined him telling it, and suddenly, magically, the writing was better!
