Automatic Business Cards {letterpress}

These business cards were printed on French Paper Speckeltone Black 140# stock. We used silver ink and blind impression. I must say I wasn't sure how the silver would print on the dark paper, but I was happy with the result. It's not a super shiny silver because they paper is not coated stock, but it looks like galvanized steel in the larger areas, which I love.

Automatic Media is a new company by the founder of Automatic Skateboarding Magazine. "The Mig" is also our neighbor!

Artful Business Cards {letterpress}

We printed these beautiful cards recently for a client that has a local faux finishing business. Her work is amazing and ranges from european plasters and decorative painting to actual art for your walls in the form of murals. I designed her logo to look like a stencil she might use in some of her work. The flower is a Rose of Sharon, her favorite, which is very similar to a hibiscus -my favorite. I think this business card is one of my favorites too!

New Biz Cards

We have new business cards! As many letterpress printers know, there is a lot of waste at the beginning of a job when you are setting up your plate, getting the right ink color or amount of ink, depth of impression, etc. Then there is aligning the registration of a two-color job which means more setting up of your plate, ink and impression all over again. Well, we finally figured out what to do with all the miss-prints or cards that just don’t quite make the cut – they are now our business cards! We cut down the cards to 3 x 3 inch squares and printed our information on the back. Then we cut rounded corners on them to give them a more finished look. We love to recycle, but it feels even better to re-use! It’s also pretty cool to see a little piece of our work on the back of each card. And just like Forrest said, “you never know what you’re gonna get.”
